Chesapeake Bay Retriever
German Shorthaired Pointer
In August of 2006, after 28 years of working at the local battery company, I decided to retire to devote my attention to training and breeding labs. Because of my flexible schedule, I am able to train nearly everyday.
I started training retrievers by training my own dog using books and videos. Over the past couple years I have learned many new techniques that a retriever needs to be a good companion and hunting partner. I have to give kudos to my mentor Greg Sharer of Born2Retrieve in Coudersport, PA. Greg and his wife Christine have made a HUGE impact in our lives with their extensive knowledge of breeding and training labrador retrievers.
We have also joined a training group from the PA, NJ, & NY areas. We train in NY and in the Delaware Water Gap throughout the year. We have learned a lot of valuable information from these sessions and made wonderful new friends. During the Spring of 2008 we joined the Susquehanna Retriever Club and helped at the annual Spring and Fall hunt tests in Elkton, Maryland.
In August 2009, I began working and training with Randy Bohn of Rammin Retrievers. Again, I've learned an enormous amount of information from him.
I am an avid outdoorsman and I enjoy all types of hunting. But most of my excursions are chasing after waterfowl in Berks and Lehigh County from September through late January. I enjoy taking friends out in the field to experience the awesome goose hunts that we have been fortunate to encounter.
